I received an email from a Tonnie Adams today and he/she knows who Elizabeth Adams was and altho not sure who her husband was, seems to know the male Adams names which were bantered around in the family tales, so to speak:
Kenion (Kinion, Kenyon) ADAMS was in the 1850 census in Troup County, GA and then was in Heard- so I suppose Troup was divided. That is usually the case- that the families didnt move. He moved to Heard County, GA by 1870 and died thereSo what I want to do here is review the census data and make notes for everyone reading it for the first time. There is new information which has come to light since I fist published my blog. Most notably this suprising information from a descendant, although I am not sure how she came to this conclusion- perhaps the death certificate:
"My ggreatmother was Francis Adams Parker. She was the wife of Amos Parker. She was born in Hamburg, Edgefield, S.C. in 1834. Her children were John Calvin Parker, Joel Parker, Caladonia Parker Martin and Tuggie Elizabeth Parker Laser. Francis Adams Parker and Tuggie Parker Laser are both buried in Oakland Cemetery in Atlanta, Ga. Francis's husband Amos Parker is buried in Union or Ozark Cemetery in Ozark, Al. Dale Co. I have a certificed copy of Francis's death certificate. Tuggie's brother Joel Parker died in Atlanta, Ga. and the body was taken to Ozark and buried. I have a copy of his death certificate. Capt. John Adams and Elizabeth Adams were Francis's parents. They were born in S.C." Louisenptc@aol.com
Francis is the correct spelling for a male and Frances for a female. "Frances" appears on her tombstone. The newspaper spelled it wrong.

Susan,
I came upon your blog on "Elizabeth Adams of SC and Warren Jordan"
I wanted to let you know that I know who the Elizabeth Adams that is in the household of Michael Whitman is. She is my 4Xgreat-grandmother. Unfortunately I do not know her maiden name, nor do I know her husband's identity. I know she has at least one additional son, Benjamin Adams (My3Xgreat-grandfather). The reason I am certain of this is because Michael Whitman provided a portion of the marriage bond when Benjamin Adams married his second wife, Caroline Culpepper, in 1859 in Russell Co., AL (Caroline is my 3xgreat-grandmother).
I am VERY intrigued by your blog and am now pouring over it looking for possible links. I believe my Adams came to Muscogee Co. about 1840. A Kinion Adams married his wife about the same time as Benjamin married his first wife, Jane Hutchins, in 1842. We have always been told that Kinion and Benjamin were related, and this has led me to look into several families in SC to make a connection, but to no avail. If I could follow a connection to additional families, it might lead to the discovery of the vital link to SC. We know that Benjamin was born in SC, as was Elizabeth his mother.
I am sending this info to give you a piece of the puzzle. Is it possible that all of these families were living together in SC? I'll look at the SC census to find links.
I do not think Elizabeth was married before she married the Adams, as Benjamin Adams was born in 1822. Although this does not rule out a former marriage, this makes it less likely.
Until then I just wanted to solve one piece of your mystery, as to the identity of the Elizabeth Adams in the house of Michael Whitman. I'll have to go to Chambers County and do some research.
